News 10th September 2015

Just a couple of things that we need to do
as a club to finish 2015.

This Friday 11th we have Senior presentation night followed by Junior Presentation day this Sunday 13th at the Clubrooms at 11.00am.

We need as many Senior players to attend Junior pres as possible to show our support to these kids who are the future of MLC.

We must pack up the club and hand over the keys to the Cricket club after this weekend.

Packing up will commence this coming Saturday and be Finished on Sunday.

I am asking ALL members to give the club a hand with this Arduous task.

We need help from 11.00am until 2.00pm this Saturday and after Junior presentation from about 1.00 -3.00pm this Sunday.

Grand Final Day

The grand final day was a great success and I would just like to thank everyone from MLC who gave time to make this one of the best grand final days  of ALL time.

Dear Malvern Lacrosse Family,

unnamed (4)Firstly, I’d like to apologise that I could not attend Senior Presentation Dinner for 2015 as I would have loved the opportunity to sit and talk about the season that almost was, however with Meggs being due any moment planning anything goes straight out the window.

Secondly, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you for making not only myself feel right at home but Meggs also over the past 3 seasons. As many of you are aware, and some are not, this was my last season playing for Malvern. Meggs and I will be taking the opportunity of the arrival of our little princess and work options to move home to Adelaide. Since my arrival at Malvern Lacrosse Club Senior presentation dinner 4 years ago I knew that I had made the right choice. You have all made me feel a part of the family and this time will always hold a special place for me.

To the juniors, you all have a great bunch of men and women around you that will help you develop not only as lacrosse players but also as people. Lean on them when you need them and join in and help when you can.

To both the Men’s and Women’s teams, you are all a strong group of people and with the hard work that many of you put in this club will continue to grow and reach great heights, of that I am sure.

To all the people behind the scenes/volunteers/supporters (you know who you are) you help keep this club a float, without the thankless hard work you put in ALL clubs will fail, make sure you all get behind these great people and help where each and every one of you can, it makes a difference.

To the Rub and Rocket, thankyou for your guidance over the past few years, and even more so this year with my attempt at a different position, although I butted heads with you both, I do appreciate the guidance.

Last and not at all least. To the boys in the State League Team. I enjoyed this year more than I thought possible, sorry to the offence for the slashes, what can I say, shit with a short stick worse with a long stick! Defence, keeping owning it, keep schooling offence! Keep getting around each other and supporting each other.

Finally, One thing that I have learnt from playing lacrosse across 3 states, the guys that wear the same shirt as you on a Saturday, are the same guys you can count on when your down and out, are the same guys that will celebrate the highs with you, and keep you grounded when you don’t realise. The saying goes you can chose your friends, but you can’t choose your family. I totally agree…. I chose the Malvern Lacrosse Club as friends and they accepted me as family!

You all have my love and respect
