Past Players/Timmytime Wrap up

So the race was run and won and the day turned out ok in the end.
Early on the weather looked to set in and ruin things but sure enough, typical Melbourne weather was in play and came good.
Juniors started the day with U13’s getting on top of Eltham with a nice win!
I expect we’ll see them doing battle come finals time.
Followed straight after by the U15’s with a solid win against Brunswick.
Div 3 had a ‘cameo’ appearance of the Birdman who managed to get on the scoresheet with a lazy 1 and 8 assists! …. Oh and the 1 goal he got was his trade mark ‘hidden ball’ trick. Not bad for a 50+yr old player who doesn’t train!
I suppose that’s like the rest of Div 3 over 45! ; ) And there’s a few!
The SL game was an even tussle all day but with the score tied at 5-5 with 2 mins to go, a cheeky young fella beat the goalie to take it to 6-5 and notch up the win for the Red & Black! Well done Aaron
While this was all going on, ‘the machine’ that was the people who ran the canteen & BBQ, worked effortlessly in keeping the masses happy yet again.
So this is a special ‘Thank you’, as without you guys giving up most of the day to tend to others, we wouldn’t have had a successful event!

And to the SL guys ( Browny,Rowan & Gus?) who ran the BBQ, serving up the ‘best’ egg & bacon roll this side of High st rd in the morning shift, a big thank you for your time!
(Sorry if I’ve missed someone, you know like the Big Kahuna ‘Squeak’ that was running around all day too..)
So the club thanks you for your much needed assistance throughout the day

Hopefully next year we can encourage ‘different’ people to help out instead of the regulars
Maybe an extra fee if you don’t want to help out? Ha ha only kidding! …….. maybe?

The Fundraising night for Tim Graham, turned out to be a huge success with a ballpark figure of 5K raised!!
Much thanks to all the people who either donated items for auction or bid on items to get the dollars in.
The winner of the 30/70 raffle even donated it back in a gesture of good will! Thanks Eric!
Tim headed off yesterday and we look forward to watching him compete on the big stage wearing the Green and Gold!
