Div 2
Malvern vs Surrey Park (away)
With some injuries and the unavailability of a few players this week, Div 3 had to give an unfortunate walkover to Eltham.
Squeak stepped up in goals to replace Jay in State League and Pauly went up to play goals for Div 2.
Having 15 to choose from sounded good to face off against Surrey on what turned out to be a great day!….weather wise.
Unfortunately Div 2 couldn’t pull it together and went down to Surrey 10-5.
With the addition of Div 2 we’ve had to split the players as evenly as possible to give both Div 3 and Div 2 a ‘workable’ playing list each week.
Trying to work out the balance of ‘young & old’ is still in early days and will be fine tuned as the season progresses.
That being said, we did have some positives, that being young Ben Freeman scoring a nice goal running into attack the cage and Matt Davie also bagged a goal which was celebrated quite fittingly!.
Matt proceeded to ‘ride’ his lacrosse stick back down the ground like it was a wild steed in celebration, much to the enjoyment of both sides!
Young Justin is fitting in well in defence and kept opposition players at bay which is promising for the future years at MLC.
‘Sticky’ is also proving to be the ground ball king as he swoops in on the ball in packs and more often than not comes out with the pill.
More players at training will make for better games coming up so if you can’t make Tuesday, Thursday is always a good option! ; )

As you can see below, 2 events have been ‘run & done’ with the Trivia Night a huge success just last Saturday!
AND We have 2 events on the same day!! YES!!
PAST PLAYERS DAY
Past Players day will be held throughout the day and we’d love to have as many people as possible in attendance!
If you know of someone who isn’t on our Malvern Mail list and would be interested in coming, Please can you get in contact with them and let them know of this day!
Nothing better than sharing a laugh with your old mates reliving the ‘good old days’ and watching the ‘New kids on the block’ (not the band) running around wearing the RED & BLACK!!!

TIM GRAHAM FUNDRAISER
Make sure you keep the diary free for our very own “Australian Representative” Tim Graham’s Fundraising Night!
Lacrosse gets little funding if any, mainly through sponsors but the majority is ‘self Funded’.
If we can raise a few dollars to help Tim along that would ease the pressure off him immensely!

**Congratulations to Zac & Kristian who celebrated their engagement party at the club on Friday Night.
By all reports it was a great night for all who attended and great to see these two young people together!
…..and the kids did like the leftover lollies that were donated to the canteen the next day!
