It is with much sorrow that I am informing the members of the Malvern Lacrosse Family of the passing of Pat Finnigan.
Pat, affectionately known to her family and friends as Chook, had been a long time supporter of Malvern lacrosse with all of her boys, Tom, Richard, Geoff, Peter and Rodney all donning the black and red jersey at one point or another.
Her relationship with lacrosse was not one of just a supporter, she also worked tirelessly helping the progression of the women’s game, where her daughters, Kate, Jenny, Helen and Sue played and as such there is an Association award named after the Finnigan family.
For many members that were around the club in the mid 80s they will fondly remember Chook playing the bingo machine where she won more often than lost.
Funeral details have not been released as yet but will be published on the Herald Sun Tribute page in the coming days.
