It starts…
Well we’re up and running for another year. There is something is in the air and a certain buzz around the club.
Preseason was awesome as huge numbers pleased the coaches and inspired team mates to get serious.
Girls and Guys hit the park with a bit more ‘gusto’ like maybe they had some ‘unfinished business’ to take care of?
Players came to the track and got acquainted with new recruits who had chosen Malvern as their ‘new’ home….and make them family, we will.
We got the Town Hall and training under lights begins Tuesday and Thursday’s.
5pm kicks off with juniors, dusting off their gear and excited to see their friends and await what the season brings
‘Hopetoun Rd’ calls all would be challengers as it has done for many years. (…is it getting steeper or was the ‘off season’ just too good?)
Thursday night meals are up and running, where you can get a cheap feed that satisfies your hunger.
Come down and have a look at the clubrooms after last years renovation and all new photos up around the club.
Thanks to Rod,Lisa and Dave for putting together ‘lost’ memories for all to see.
Our State League team got us off on the right foot with it’s first round game in Bendigo.
A very physical match with it going down to the wire in ‘overtime’ yet again and coming away with the biscuits!
This week we had the rest of the competition starting and most teams came away with the 4 points.
Our New U13 girls had their first game on Sunday with a couple of ‘token’ boys to bolster numbers.
Thanks to Lochie and ‘Mitch’ for helping the girls out.
Games for this weekend have been changed to accomodate other clubs. Mainly Div 3 playing Friday Night at Surrey Park (7pm) and Div 1 playing early at 12.30 on Saturday at Willy.
Event nights are in the wings getting planned as we speak and more details to come once finalised.
Hoping to see some supporters come down to the games as I know the players appreciate your effort in cheering from the sideline!
El Prez
Dirty Word – Subs
Yep that old chestnut again raising its ugly head. This year our new treasurer has made it easier to pay subs.
‘Pinky’ has set up a direct debit system where it’s not so much of a whack in your pocket….but there are some ground rules.
Hopefully everyone has registered via the link on sporting pulse.
Each game cost $15 but you only get 3 games at this rate.
By the 4th game, if you have not made some arrangement with Pinky, you cant be picked for any team.
Unfortunately the club has had to take this stance in alignment with Lacrosse Victoria’s new policy on Club fees.
So make sure you don’t get left behind and contact Pinky either at the club or via email.

This week at the State League match they will be taking photos of our S/L coach, the team,B grade women and Juniors.
This is all to be included in their next newsletter with a feature on lacrosse.
If your in the area, why not come down and see Sue and her team and arrange a time to get some financial advice.
Being the winner of ‘Branch of the year’ (Eastern region) means they know what they’re doing to help their customers achieve their financial goals.
