Hi Red and Black,
This Week just Passed…

Our Major sponsor Bendigo Bank Murrumbeena is sponsoring a Lawn Bowls Community tournament at the Murrumbeena Bowling Club over a 4 week period which is open to local sporting clubs and organisations.
There is a $500 prize to go to the winning club competing in the tournament.
Treasurer Kaz entered a team from MLC which will comprise of 4 members of our club each week competing for the prize.
Round 1 was held last Wednesday with Gus, Gaz ,Kaz ,and Sahnay making up the team of 4. Coach Meredith was also there just in case some strategic adjustments were needed. After a few practice ends the Game was On.
Gaz was the Skipper and after the first end the MLC team got off to a bit of a shaky start.
Trailing by 2 at the first change Coach Meredith stepped in and gave the team some advice and told them to “Lift your Game”. Amazingly that was all that was needed to get this dynamic foursome into gear. Sahnay dropped a bowl right on the jack with Kaz and Gus following suit to pick up 5 shots and lead 5 -2 at the Main break.
In the 3rd, skipper Gaz led the way directing the team on where to aim and strategically place the bowls.
Coach Meredith played his “Double Points” card and the MLC team shot away to a 11-2 lead. In the last the team seemed a bit Cocky and the other gang made their run trying to change the momentum. Coach Meredith urged the team from the sidelines to “Bring home the 4 Points” and with the Skipper Gaz putting in some hard yards the MLC team ran out easy winners 15-6.
Personally it was a lot of fun and I think Gaz and Gus should stick to Lacrosse.
Kaz and Sahnay probably have a future in Lawn Bowls !
Thanks again to Sue and Dennis from BB.
It was a good opportunity to support our sponsor and as always MLC presented in a professional manner.
And just in after the first round of official competition the leader board reads:

Planning Help
As previously mentioned, we would also appreciate some help with the junior clinics being run in the next couple weeks, we cannot stress how important these are for the future of our club.
We would also appreciate if those players from last year could contact the club as to their playing intentions this year, as this assists with planning for our teams this season. Alternatively, we ask, if you didn’t play in 2014, and you are thinking about having a run with us in 2015 that you let us know!
Sponsors
Rod Finnigan has been working hard during the off season and has been able to secure MLC a sponsorship deal through HANKOOK TYRE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD
For every set of 4 tyres purchased MLC will receive a $50 donation.
The order must be made through Rod and will be Fitted by his nominated supplier.
Tyresmart 61 Gilby Road Mount Waverly.
Rod’s details are Mob. 0488 108 943 E. rod@hankooktyre.com.au
Great work Rodney and if any other member can help with some form of sponsorship please let me know. If you ask a question you will get an answer.
Employment
I would ask all members to ask around as I need to secure some work for Drew Bracken.
Drew has some irons in the fire but we all need to ask around.
Finally training is still on this Monday at the Town Hall for those who are not away.
As a Club the more we practice the better we get.
The More we run the faster we get.
“ Catch us if you Can”
Cheers Gus.
