With a saddened heart I regret to inform you all of another passing of a Malvern Member.
Word of Charles “Charlie” Middleton passing away just reached me this Monday morning.
We are still trying to find out more details but would like to send our condolences to Portia and his family.
Both Charlie and Portia both last attended the club in 2012 to watch the State League team compete at home.
Front row centre with a blanket to keep them warm (as it was chilly) they sat and watched the game and compared it back to the games he played many years ago.
For those unaware, here are some of his achievements..
Charles G Middleton followed on after Alf Evans as Captain and Coach of the senior team.
He was a member of the A team on eleven occasions when premierships were won.
Represented the club on Association Committees, the State as a player, and for a number of years was Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association.
He also coached the Victorian State Team.
He is a Life Member of the Malvern Club and has given many years to the administration of the club and lacrosse in general.
A highly regarded member of the club that will be sorely missed..
