Update from the Prez

Hi All

Getting closer to season openers with Training starting for all
this Monday Evening (9th Feb).
Juniors should gather to meet the Coaches by 5.00 and Seniors ready to go at 6.00pm.

On Tuesday evening this week we heard Glenn Meredith and Leanne Currie speaking on Radio station SMASH FM.
They were both naturals and spoke to the sporting public about our Great Club and shared their thoughts on how we are heading in 2015 and beyond.
Fantastic that the club was able to get some form of publicity and I would really like to thank Leanne and Rub for doing the interview and thanks to Gaz for organising it.
Here is a link that will take you to the Interview from Tuesday .
You will need to Listen for a while as they speak to others before Leanne and Glenn come on but it is really worth the wait.
Please find the interview link here (INTERVIEW @ 26.10min MARK):

Once again Rub puts his hand up to help develop Lacrosse in Victoria.
We have 6 of our boys trying out for this team and we wish you All the best
with your quest for selection. There will be tryouts for this team starting at 9.00am
this Saturday 6th Feb at the Altona Lacrosse Club.

** Fortunately I am delighted to announce that Kaz Meredith will take over the role of Treasurer.
Karen brings to the table heaps of experience in this area as well as a first class business acumen.
Karen has responded to my plea for help and having known her for many years I look forward to working with her.
I would like to thank Alan “Pinky” Sweeney who has previously done a fantastic job as Treasurer for the past 2 years.
Now you can get yourself FIT and play good ball Pink !!

** We have several school clinics coming up and we need help.
I would like members who can get a couple of hours off work to contact me.
If we all put in and just plug the 2 hour holes in our program it will be easy and beneficial.

** Some of the Womens Team members are starting their training early and have completed, 12 week or 100km challenges, crossfit sessions at the gym and even hiking!
The girls team are focussed on getting to the next level and are setting an example to ALL players at Malvern.
If you are interested in being a part of this team, make sure you get down to the Town Hall Monday Night (as mentioned above) and catch up with the rest of the Girls.

That’s it for this week and I have been reminding the players to “Go for a Run”
To those of you who have been I am sure you will cruise through Monday Night.
To those of you who haven’t, you will be sore Tuesday morning.
Coaches, “Run them all and let’s get the Whole club fit” !!!!!!
