Letter from Williamstown lacrosse Club.
Just wanted to thank you and all involved from the Malvern Lacrosse Club for your fantastic support for our family day last Saturday. It’s great that our two great clubs can respect each other on and off the field and demonstrate true sportsmanship. Please pass on our gratitude to your members and good luck for the rest of the season. I am sure we will be meeting at various levels during the finals and we look forward to some keen competition.
Cheers,
Jock

We are very much kindly ask for our club members and senior players to donate a bottle or 6 pack of something to the cause. We also ask for all senior players to sell a raffle book of 10 tickets. This is a major fundraising initiative for the season and it would be great if all senior players could sell a book of tickets.

Malvern v MCC 15-4
The last time we met Malvern got over the line 10-7 So this was a very good result.
Tara and Katie B with 3 goals each.
Sarah and Lauren slotting one each and Kate the dodger chipping in with 7 goals.
It was a well played game. Tarryn and Nina holding the defence in place, along with Leanne
in goals we looked pretty good. Good solid work by all of the team
Ivy, Faye and Reece around the ground.
Under 18’s
Under 18s travelled to Willy this week to play the TOP side.
With 17 Players now in this squad Alex K R had an extra week off to help his back recover.
Some new Umpire Cadets made the start of the game somewhat confusing but interesting.
The boys seemed to be wide awake this week and started doing ” Ruthless Business “ from the start.
Once again the Solid Practice session from Thursday night was showing it’s worth.
Without rambling on we “Smashed” them with Total Team Contribution.
Still heaps of room for improvement but good to see the Teamwork of this group.
The talk was Positive and every player offered encouragement to the Group.
4 points and a meat pie and sauce after the game was the goal achieved.
Getting stronger each practice session and still striving for a place in the Finals.
Malvern 15 v Willy Fearon 7
Under 15’s
The Malvern Under 15s played Williamstown at Williamstown this week.
After a good start Malvern led 5 goals to 1 at quarter time. We were competitive in the second and led by 2 at half time. Unfortunately we fell away in the last half of the match, seeing Williamstown take the win 18 goals to 12.
Tom Bown worked hard all day, coming off after a nasty slash early in the third, then returning to play out the match. Sam had a great game, winning the ball and running and clearing from defense.
Aaron finished with 4 goals, Ben Chapman 5, Tom Bown 1, Ryan 1 and Mitch Reid 1. Lochy, Kaelib and Aaron had 2 assists each and Ryan 1.
With Altona beating Caulfield this week we should now be sitting second on the ladder. We play Moreland – Surrey at Moreland next week in the last home and away match for the season.
We really need to put in and keep the concentration and intensity up for four quarters in all our matches from now on.
Keep up the effort boys, let’s get to the finals and show them how it’s done !
Under 13’s
u13’s played at Fearon for Williamstown’s family day today.
With some moderations made to accommodate 2 playing fields our players were sure to have fresh legs all day.
It was looking to be a close game with Malvern only one goal down in the first quarter.
The ball moved up and back a lot Ben Freeman making some great intercepts through out the game.
Ryan started in goals for the first half making some great saves but played his best back on the field assisting Lochie 3 of his 4 goals.
Don’t quite know what happened today, we looked strong then just dropped our skill levels a bit. Everyone tried hard there was no doubt.
Our final score was a loss 13-4
