It was good to see PMC and Rooboy out there on Saturday for their first games of the Season.
It was also great to have Tom Bown to come and help us out for the game against Footscray, we really appreciate it.
After a game of many mistakes we finally got going and back into the game only to be pipped in the dying seconds of the game going down by 1 goal to Footscray.
B Grade Women’s
Malvern V Newport. With a few pullouts which couldn’t be avoided we finally got a team of ten together Thanks to Tor ( I hope I got that right) for putting on the gear for her first ever game of Lacrosse, but sadly without subs we ran out of steam going down to Newport by 3.
Under 18’s
This week we play Chadstone at Chadstone.
11.00 am Start so we need to be there by 10.00am.
Last Sat we got off to a slow start but after we changed up the way we were playing our defence things changed.
We need to get more practice time in on our defence.
This Thursday it would be good if everyone could be there ready to go at 5.30pm.
There is one or two that can’t make it by 5.30 but most are there early.
So this week when you get there I would like you to get changed and get your gear on as soon as you get there.
Let’s make the most of our practice time.
Parent’s.. I know we were previously scheduled to have a Bye this week so I hope it does Not hinder plans for anyone.
See you all Thursday at 5.30pm at the Town Hall.
Cheers Gus.
Under 15’s
Well done to the Under 15’s who beat Camberwell 21 to 7 for their third conscecutive win this season. Great work in the middle from Tom Bown, as well as Aaron and Mitch Baker, ensured we won nearly every face off and controlled the play early. We had plenty of contributors when it came to goals, with Ben Chapman, Aaron, Mitch Baker, Tom Bown, Ryan and Kaileb all finding the back of the net. Good to see the scoring shared around and also pleasing to see we had 13 assists.
Solid defense from our long polers made scoring for the opposition tough. Lochy looking very willing with the long stick, Harry solid as ever and Mitch Reid looking like he was on for a big game before having to leave the field injured. Tom Martin pulled off some great saves in goals.
Thanks again to our Under 13’s, Ben Freeman, Garrett, Byron, Ryan and Lochy who play up and are a really important part of the team. They are fantastic contributors and not afraid to get right amongst the action against some bigger bodies. Already their improvement this season has been really impressive.
Well done Sam who came down sporting a broken arm to support his team.
Keep up the good work !
