Presidents 2014 Welcome Message
Welcome all.
As President of the Malvern Lacrosse Club, it is my pleasure to invite you to season 2014.
This invitation is for all players, past and present and their families to once again join us as we embark on another season together at the Town Hall.
The start of the 2014 season is only weeks away and training has been going for some time.
A steady flow of regular players have been showing up week after week, working together to improve their fitness and strengthen our teams.
Senior teams remained the same being: S/L – Div 1 – Div 3 and our B grade women.
Junior teams have had a change up with LV reverting to ‘odd’ numbers.
Those are now: U11 – U13 – U15 – U18(till 2015) and our U13 girls.
Keen juniors caught up over the Christmas holidays for some light hearted practice and basic skills which was great to keep friendships going in the ‘off season’.
The club has sourced a new range of quality merchandise for kids and adults to look the part and keep you warm on those chilly Melbourne days.
Social Events are being planned throughout the year with more emphasis on encouraging newer members to attend and feeling welcomed at Malvern.
Major Days are always a big event, like ‘Past players Day’ and the ‘Alaimo Cup’ and along with our major sponsors, everyone possible is invited to attend.
We’ve started off our pre season with lower numbers but are looking to build, as we get closer to the first whistle.
I believe that 2014 will be a time we look to strengthen our membership base with the World Series in Denver mid year, a lot of our people will be traveling to experience this event.
So this year more than others, is a time when we need everyone to help the club, that has been there for them years before.
If your sitting at home and wondering ‘Could I ?, should I ? I’m encouraging you to dust off your gear and come down as your presence will only bolster the base of players we have. Who knows you might catch up with friends you haven’t seen in years?
If your not a player and want to be more involved, that’s ok too, as there are plenty of jobs we can offer you.
I do hope you consider helping us by joining the club and look forward to seeing you there in 2014
Once again the committee members, parents, players, sponsors and supporters of our great club are working together to build on the great spirit and family atmosphere we have at Malvern.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Kind Regards
Brad Currie
