State League

Chadstone Win 22 to 4 3 wins 0 losses for season 2013 For the third season in a row Malvern State League won the Stonnington Shield against Chadstone at Chadstone in a game of lacrosse that was great in patch’s by us but we will need to be more consistent and focused against Surrey Park next week. David Gal was solid in the net again our D poles are starting to work better together, and the overall team game was good with 9 different players on the score sheet led by 6 and 3 from Shane “lefty” Koppens and some great gut running by Gaz and the Goon the highlights. Patty Mac got the 3 vote chocolates but more importantly has found a way to the net in the last few games and we will need more of it. We did however give away some silly penalties and against quality opposition next week will put us under score board pressure we don’t need. All players are on notice to bring aggression at the ball and contest but leave the testosterone filled chest thumping at home, we cant afford to be sucked in to other teams pressures, we are a becoming a great lacrosse team but need to add more professionalism to our playbook…. Bring on Surrey park !! Rubber

Division 1

Malvern 8 v Altona 12. The div 1 team looked great on paper this week, but a slow start gave Altona a headstart we could not catch. Encouraging was the effort all day, fighting it out to the end. It is also great to see the return of Toby Exton, back for the first game of the season.

Division 3

Camberwell 7 Vs Malvern 17

Camberwell started well with the first face off win and goal. Malvern quickly came back, with quality defence work leading the way. After which the young and sprightly forward line of Chris Baker, Rod and Geoff Finnigan, took over… Not really. The young guns lead the way, with their leg speed and skills Blitzing Camberwell across the ground..

Jordy Campbell 4 gls, Nick Chapman 4 and 2. While Darcy Campbell volunteered to play long pole and what a job he did, quality stickwork in defence along with some great checking and clearing. Dillan Hubbard slipped in a sneaky 3 goals, while his Brother Ran the legs off the the midfielders and was superb coming out of Defence.
