Malvern Vs Eltham.
Result – Loss 16 – 6
The U/18s played Eltham in the First Semi Final on Saturday and it was a matchup of 3rd vs. 4th.
We got off to a bad start with Jesse Coleman scoring our only goal of the first half as we were down 11-1.
The game was well and truly over but we matched their score in the second half to finish off going down 16-6.
I’d like to thank all the boys for playing all year, it has been fun yet again to spend plenty of time with you.
Special thanks go out to Referee David Gerrard and Scorer Debbie Milner for helping me out with everything throughout the year.

Malvern Vs Eltham.
Result – Won 19 – 15
It was a good win by the team last Saturday and now we are into the Grand Final.
We started off well and the “Telling Factor” was our shooting on the goal.
Everyone did what I have been asking you to do all year. Shoot ON the Deck from Outside and Over
the Goalie’s shoulder from Close!
We nailed our first 5 out of 6 shots, well done! Game over for that Goalie!
Remember how you did it, practice it again on Tuesday and Thursday, then “Bring it to the Game” on Saturday.
The Talk was impressive but it was only at 75%, the key to our success is our “LOUD TEAM TALK”.
Defence was solid with Guy doing the job in goals again. Great game Guy.
We ran hard and fast and ground balls were also very good (See the importance of GB’s!!!).
I was happy that no one was walking around, we all ran hard, substituted and rested then did it again.
By doing this we were able to run them into the ground.
Eltham scored a few in the last quarter but we had their measure all day and this was aided by allowing
me (as Coach) the luxury of having all the players doing exactly what I asked, without question. This meant I had
control of the game and outcome.
Now it is back to the “drawing board” with 2 more sessions of learning, listening and working harder than our opposition.
We WILL work harder and then we will Rock the Footscray Boat!!!!!
Tips For the Week
1. Never have a Shave on Game Day (Very Bad Luck)
2. Go to Bed 1 Hour earlier before a Grand Final
3.Don’t worry about your Room this week. Just get your Stick Right for Saturday.
